I’ve spoken on multiple occasions about the places I draw inspiration from. I’ve spoken about my favorite magazines and websites, and the things that work for me when I run into a creative roadblock. What I haven’t mentioned is the impact of taking time away, turning off my devices, and being completely unavailable. It’s a game changer.
We’re in a constant state of being connected – we’re always a text message, a phone call, or an email away. But what happens when we turn to outside resources [literally🌳]? What happens when we choose to be available on our own time? What happens when we unplug, even for a short period of time?
Getting out of the city has always been something I enjoy – a temporary abandoning of bright lights and chaotic noise, a temporary disregard for hustle and constant nonstop work culture.
This week I’m headed North, into nature's playground, and I’m stoked. It’ll be a time to reflect, listen, think. To put emphasis on mindfulness and life away from tech. My laptop will thank me for finally being able to sleep for more than 6 hours, as will my eyes which are suffering from overloaded screen time, lol. I’m hoping the result of getting away will allow me to come back refreshed and full of new ideas – a benefit to both me and the wonderful clients I work with.
– happy monday everyone 🧡
